I lived in Barton during 1955 to 1962, attending
I remember those days quite well, during which time Canon Cleaver was Rector and Miss Dee, a most gracious lady, was ‘in charge’ of the choir, amongst her many duties within the church. During this time also the church organ was moved from the front to the back of the church (at least I think it was that way around) quite an upheaval as I remember.
A long way from ‘home’, I now live in NSW,
Keep up the great work on this site! Listed now in My Favourites, I hope to browse regularly,

Many of my ancestors were born in Barton although we cannot trace them all. It would be nice to have a bigger history to see if the name of VASS features anywhere in the church

I always look forward to my pilgrimage back to St. Nicholas's whenever I'm back in England. Many thanks to the members of the choir for welcoming me when I've had the pleasure of joining them on a couple of occasions at the Christmas Carol Concert.
I look forward to seeing you all again when back from my adopted country (Oz). Kind regards to you all. Graham Jones
